Living Landscapes is a beginner-friendly aquascaping workshop designed to introduce you to the art of creating underwater ecosystems using aquatic plants, rocks, driftwood, and fish.

Whether you’re completely new to planted aquariums or simply curious about the hobby, this workshop offers a hands-on experience that blends creativity, design, and nature.

Hosted by Splashy Fin in collaboration with Sideways, the session will guide you through the complete process of building one aquarium from scratch, each showcasing a different aquascaping style — revealing just how expressive and diverse underwater landscapes can be.

What You’ll Explore

• The World of Aquascaping

  Learn how aquascaping evolved into a global hobby and why people become deeply connected to the process of building living ecosystems.

• Soil & Substrate

  Understand how the foundation of a planted tank affects plant growth, nutrient balance, and long-term health.

• Hardscape Design

  Work with rocks and driftwood to explore balance, depth, composition, and flow — the elements that make an aquascape feel truly natural.

• Aquatic Plants

  Get introduced to carpeting plants, mosses, ferns, foregrounds, midgrounds, and background plants — and learn how to place and care for them.

• Bringing the Tank to Life

  Watch the transformation as the aquarium is filled and the landscape comes alive — often the most magical part of the process.

• Fish, Filtration & Maintenance

  Learn the practical essentials: lighting, filtration, water care, livestock selection, and easy maintenance routines for keeping a healthy planted aquarium at home.

• More Than Just a Demonstration

  This is an interactive workshop where you’ll get hands-on exposure, ask questions freely, and leave with practical knowledge you can confidently apply to your own aquarium journey.

  Every participant receives a curated goody bag with starter essentials to help kickstart their aquascaping adventure.

REFUND AND CANCELLATION POLICY

Due to limited seats and advance procurement of materials, all ticket purchases are final.

• Tickets are non-refundable once booked.

• Refunds will not be issued for no-shows.

• Refunds will not be issued for partial attendance.

Transfer Policy

• Tickets may be transferred to another person up to 24 hours before the event.

• Transfer requests must be communicated via email or WhatsApp with the replacement attendee’s full name and contact details.

• If the event is cancelled by Sideways due to unforeseen circumstances, a full refund will be issued.
